Downloading a file from a drive to the app

I have searched in the forum but didn’t find if it’s possible to download a file from a drive or an web adress …
Can anyone give me an explantation or example ?

You cannot test the existence of files outside the readable android file system

You cannot download google doc files (doc/sheet etc) only their content

Here is how to access a google sheet content and fetch it as csv data
