Connect function not working

Asking the App Inventor development page to connect to the app on a mobile device (Samsung, Android) is not working. We get an error message that says "Network Error - The companion has disconnected."

This is occurring with any project, on two different machines & phones (both teacher and student).

We cannot run the Emulator as a backup because it will not work on Apple MacBook with M1 chip (2020).

Anyone else experiencing the inability to run an app that has been created, due to the connection not following through?

Try turning off the battery saver on the phones.

They might be going to sleep.

We have had similar reports a number of times. In most cases the school's IT department is blocking the connection as a security measure.

If there is nobody that can fix the issue for you, you can try connecting via a USB cable.

Thank you ABG and Chris for your responses.

I have just sent a whitelist request for https://ai2.appinventor.mit.edu/ to our Tech Dept.

However I'm not totally banking on that being the issue, since the student I have doing app building right now said she tried on her mobile device and connection did not work there either. (Different reason, though? Is it necessary for both devices to be on the same wifi to work?)

Thanks!
