Barcode scanner needs work to improve on base so that it works well or in the companion
currently I can't get it to activate my camera and launch an app to scan for X for external isn't working either
QR code and PDF417 should be supported formats
look into other supportive formats as well
drivers license and the world's current most common QR are second most important to grocery if not first for directions and proper processing
