I am using MIT App Inventor on a regular basis.
Today suddenty I started experiencing weird connection issues with the Android Companion:
Initial connection does often not work (I scan the code, see the text code on my phone and nothing happens).
When I scan the code again it stays stuck at 20% and either takes a few minutes to load or just hangs.
I tried on 2 separate accounts, on 2 browsers (chrome and firefox), restarted the computer and the phone. Nothing helps.
I am working from my home office and nothing changed in my network settings.
Following @ewpatton advice on a previous post I tried to connect to https://rendezvous.appinventor.mit.edu from the phone and all seems to be working OK.
Did something change on your end?
Please advise.
Yossi
Thanks.
If this helps, sometimes I see the following error message (it is displayed as Toast so it is hard to capture): "Error 1103: unable to complete the given request with the key ..." (see photo).
If it helps, it is taking me 2 to 3 attempts to connect to the companion app at the moment, with companion 2.7u, whether with real device Pixel 8a Android 14 or with Genymotion Pixel 3XL Android 12.
Does not work (legacy connection) on my Genymotion emulator (well, either not at all, or takes 4/5 goes to get the magic window to open up), but as I just said above, the normal connection route seems to be working OK now.
Legacy may work with an emulator depending on the network configuration. Most emulators use a bridge connection (including the standard Android Studio emulator bundled with aistarter). Depending on your emulator software, it might be possible to have it act as a real host on your network, in which case Legacy should work.
