Upgrade to Android 16 screen items too large

I upgraded an old Android phone to a new Samsung Galaxy S26 with much higher resolution screen. I managed to install some older AI2Apps on the phone and they open fine and run well. However, the screen elements are much larger on the new phone and run off of the right side of the screen.

All of my GUI elements are in horizontal layouts scaled to screen width. I have text boxes and labels inside these layouts. Everything has always scaled properly in the past - on a Samsung Galaxy A6 (Android 8), on a Samsung Galaxy S10e (Android 10) and on an old Kindle Fire tablet. However, the auto-scaling is not working correctly on the new Android 16 phone.

Any suggestions as to what this is all about and how to fix it? The scaling should be automatic (as I always use percentages) and adapt to any device.

I just found the fix. The default system font size on the new phone was way too large. I changed settings > display > fonts… to a smaller size and the apps present correctly!
