I work for the South Kitsap School District. I am working to get a deployment working for the MIT app inventor for Windows. Unfortunately, when it goes to install the HAXM software, that fails and the install does also.
From what I have read the HAXM software has been deprecated and not supported on Windows 11. What options do we have to get this working?
Can the installation be modified to not include the HAXM software? What other hypervisor can be used with the MIT app inventor?

Are you attempting to install the App Inventor emulator and are the Windows 11 on a PC that does not use Intel processors (an AMD processor for instance). The emulator on AMD machines has problems with MITs home grown emulator.
It appears MIT is getting ready to move stuff from the App Inventor pages to the App Inventor Foundation pages. @ewpatton
For instance the advice for testing apps no longer includes the suggestlion to use an emulator and links to aiStarter are now defaulting to Jump In and Start Programming!

I believe on Windows 11 the HAXM support is no longer needed. The last Windows emulator we published was focused on prioritizing Windows 7 and 10, and newer Android emulator installations support Windows 10 and 11. Sadly, Google never saw it as a priority to support all three Windows versions at the same time. Since more of our users have transitioned off of Windows 7, it makes more sense to lean toward newer versions. It will take some time to put that together as our resources are stretched thin but we are aware of the issue.
